Jayna spent her early childhood years in Beacon, New York, but just before she turned 12, her family moved to Garner, North Carolina. The transition was weird at first because southern hospitality was such a foreign concept, but now she can't imagine not saying "yes ma'am" in response to questions asked of her. With a love for writing and people, Jayna pursued a B.A. in English with a minor in Social Work at Appalachian State University. While there, her faith was nurtured and sustained by RUF and particularly by the RUF intern. The intern’s love and kindness inspired Jayna to become an RUF intern after she graduated in 2015. If she's not at her favorite local coffee shop, Jayna's probably at another coffee shop nearby. Otherwise, you can find Jayna talking about how much she loves orca whales, dancing wildly in her kitchen to pop music, or plotting a way for her to attend the next Academy Awards.
